San Francisco Panoramas

Two panoramas of San Francisco, taken from Twin Peaks. Nothing really fancy but it’s been hard lately to find a day without clouds nor fog. Flickr hosts versions up to 10,000 pixels large of both pictures. You can also follow these links for higher resolutions:

Wow! Impressive. How did you capture those?

  2. Romain Guy says:

Both are made of a series of 9 hand-held shots stitched in Photoshop with the Photomerge action.

Did you set a fixed exposure on your camera? Was there a particular zoom level you used to avoid distortion? My panoramas never look this good…

  4. Romain Guy says:

I used a fixed exposure (1/200 and 1/160) and a fixed aperture (f/16). I did not do anything in particular to avoid lens distortion. Both panoramas are actually a bit distorted. The first one was shot at 40mm and the second one at 17mm (not taking into account the 1.6x crop factor of my Canon 30D.)
